I have a silver arowana who jumps a lot when scared and about 3 months ago he injured his lower jaw from it. I thought it was just a normal cut and would heal over with medication but i checked everyday and see no improvements. I took him out to see how it was injured and found out that the lower jaw was split. i was wondering if the jaw would heal up or he would be like that for the rest of his life? he still eats so it is not a life threatening issue but i just cant help but feel sorry for him. He is in a tank with another silver and a jardini.

How long is it been like that? Try to bump your temp at 84F-85F. Take pics of the injury so we can identify what it is.

Holy crap that's a really bad injury. It may take time to heal up and eventually the injury will close. Just keep you water clean and add slat and warmer water. However there is a chance that it will heal up but won't close, but keep your fingers crossed.
