From the first day I got my arowanas i fed them shrimp. Now that i finally got proper fish food for them they won't accept it. I am wondering if I should continue to feed them shrimp or try to switch their food to pellets. If i do switch to pellets any methods i should use?? Thanks in advance.

Try some hikari floating stick if you wanna feed it with pellets. I recommend you give your aro with varied diets that contain lots of carotene.

Its good to keep them on varied diet, so mixing shrimp with the pellets would be great for them. Sometime you have to starve your fish for alittle while before they will switch to pellets. The other that I have read works is having your arow with a tank mate that takes pellets it incourages them to eat faster. I feed my arowanas on a diet of, shrimp, superworms, crickets, hikari food sticks and full spectrium large carnivore pellets. What kind of arows and a how big are they?

The reason i want to switch them to pellets is because i want to use pellets instead of shrimp. I bought 2.2lbs of Hikari Fish Sticks and would like to use it instead of wasting them. I don't buy shrimp a lot as well so supplying food for them with shrimp is not good. They are 2 Silver Arowanas who about 7-10''. The big one seems to be eating now but the smaller one still rejects the food. I also have a problem with my snakeheads. I had them when they were less than an inch long and now they are about 4''. They only eat shrimp no matter how long i starve them. Every other fish i had eat just fine so hopefully this problem can be resolved.

At some point you might just have to make the choice to feed them shrimp, if you have to do that you cn stuff your shrimp with pellets so they still get there nutritional value.

I agree, try stuffing the pieces of shrimp with the pellets if yuo really want them to eat pellets.
I would just keep feeding them fresh shrimp and other kinds of fish. I have seen several pellet only aros and other fish and they look no more healthy than the ones I had that ate catfish filet and shrimp.
