The i moved a while ago this means that I have to move my tanks. I moved my 30 gallon 4 days ago, in it I have a ornate bichir, and my Jar. Heres my problem, normally my Jar is a normally a hearty eater. For the past 4 days hes just been swimming around the surface of the tank swimming his laps, constantly opening and closing his mouth to breath through his gills. I know this isnt normal behavior so if anyone has any idea of what i could do to treat this, because I can;t put any sort of a dignosis on this.

How large is the Jardini? Tank seems a bit small...

When you moved the tank did you clean out the filter or just move it? How are the water parameters?

Its a complete water change when i moved it but i left the water in filter so i wouls still have all teh bacteria. Hes at 8 inches right now, I know its not enough I saved him from being food for piranhas I couldnt let a fish this beautiful go to something like that. Hes getting moved into a 55 next week. Then eventually into my 120 and i know i'm still going to need to up grade from there. I'm kind of looking forward to it! I dont have any of my materials for checking my paramiters at my new place yet. What I did was lifed my out take out of the water so that it was putting oxygen into the tank. That seems so have done the trick. Hes acting like normal now and he ate some crickets for me.

That's a silver aro, not a jardini. If he's still having problems it's probably a combo fo too small of a tank and under filtertration. Up both as soon as you can.

I think it was just stressed out and neede time to get used to the move. The tank does sound small but it is only a 8'' fish so that is probably not the problem.

What kind of filters are you using and what is it's main diet? Do you gut load the crickets or just feed them to it straight? Do you use a air stone (pump) or not?

I think you could also add some stability by seachem just to make sure the tank does not have a huge spike since you had to move the whole thing and did a 100% water change.

I know the tank size is to small, he's in a 55 now... Which I know is still to small! but its the best I can do for now. I save him from being piranha food. He's started eating how I feed him superworms, shrimp, krill, and pellets. I do have a Jardini I'm not stupid that wasnt me that posted the picture. The problem was the lack of oxygen. He's actually gained 2 inches!
