Hi, I'm new to this site. I was wondering if I could put 6" silver aro, 5" jardini and 8" black aro in the same tank. Introduce them all at the same time in a 75g tank. I'll upgrade into bigger tank soon.

You'll hear that you are not supposed to keep multiple aro's in the same tank period. The Jardini in the meantime will eventually kill any of its tankmates, especially other aros. I personally think that it is possible to keep silvers and blacks together but be wary if you do that because they are also known for their aggression towards each other.

i agree with matt. even with silvers and blacks is a gamble. you put a jardini with the mix then its just real trouble.

I say no simply for the fact that they are highly territorial. I'd say you have a 99.9% chance of never having perfect finnage and a good chance that the Jardini will kill the other two.

I currently keep all the aro species together at the moment and true the jardini is the most aggressive but so far so good, blacks, silvers, jars, lecharti, and pimas the only aro im missing is african

Just wait till the Jardini gets bigger. Mine didn't turn into a holy terror till he was about 10" and then it got progressively worse.

Here is my failed attempt at keeping a silver and jar together. The jar was constantly harassing the silver. Sometimes he would mimic a grey reef shark about to strike.

what happened to them in the end?

Can't really tell from the pic whether the silver got bullied too badly

you are right, that is definitely gambling, high stakes at that with such an expensive fish.

As everyone has mentioned, it is a bad idea to mix the two. However, silvers can be housed with other silvers.
I used to have a 14" Jardini (Scleropages jardini) that would even kill plecos in his aquarium.

Try this. Remove the Jar, let silver establish its territory. Re-introduce the jar and see what happens. I was able to reverse hte packing order this way. Probably having another large silver could help with the mix too.

I got a 22" Silver and recently added a 12" Jardini. The only fish the Jardini is harassing is the Zonatus who harass it back. Nobody messes with the Flowerhorn. I don't know. Maybe when the Jardini gets a little bigger I might see some changes to it's behavior.

Well it happened. The Jar attacked all it's tankmates. It shredded one of my Red Devils tail. Nasty fish! Had to trade it up.

I know this is old, but I just wanted to add that a lfs near me has 24"ers in about a 600 tall tank. 1 Jardini and 4 or 5 silvers. The jar stays on the left side, and the silvers on the right side. I have watched them a lot and they don't bother each other at all.
