hey, i've seen many arowana pics especially jardini with abnormally big eyes..anyone know why is it big?suggestions? IMO, its a sign of the aro being stunted.i used to own a jardini with large eyes...and didnt grow even after 2 years. well guys, try to avoid buying arowanas with abnormally large eyes.just as a precaution.. thumbsup.gif

Looks normal to me. Babies always have proportionately larger eyes until they "grow into them."

well, this jardini had significantly larger eyes than the regular ones...he didnt grow at all..just ate but didnt grow. ive noticed this several times, with other people, their aro with big eyes...have a very low growth rate.yeah..babies have big eyes compared to their body...but that difference should be reduced as the fish grows...then it'll look normal. but thats what i've noticed over the years..smile.gif

I was gonna say the same thing

Look at this Pbass, he's got hand me downs from a 2 footer...lol.

cichlas, this is about arowanas...pbass is another type of fish..well, if you take a look at my current jardini, or even Dracofish's jardini(which i rate as the best i've seen), the eye size and the skull size is significantly better to the jardini in the pic...you guys might not have heard about this...but this is what ive learnt and what ive been advised by arowana experts in my country. rockon.gif

I was just messin' mate. smile.gif I am aware that PBass are not arowana rasp.gif

From the pic you posted the aro looks like a tiny thing anyway (meaning baby with proportionally bigger eyes), maybe some better evidence in the pics would help clarify your point. Not saying you are wrong, just that the pic does nothing to backup the theory.

haha..no prob man..thats the best pic i can find..sorry about that pic...that jardini is like 6-7 inches long at least...smile.gif

well, if take a look at Draco's jardini when it is at 8 inches, the size of the eye and the skull is normal. while the jardini which ive own 2 years ago..at around 7or 8 inches..have a much bigger eye compared to the skull..
