Yesterday I come home from work and everything is fine he is swimming around like he always does and seems to be perfectly fine and he had ate really good the night before. I am watching TV around 11:00 and getting ready to feed my son when my wife starts to freak out saying that the aor isn't moving and his mouth is hanging wide open. I of course thought that she was joking cause she knows that is my favorite fish even though when he was growing up he ate about 500.00 worth of other fish. I get up and he is dead as can be. Sucks cause I bought him right after he lost his yoke sack and he was close to 27in long. So needless to say my night ended pretty crappy.

I was more shocked than anything. He had lasted through a ph spike nitrate spike and everything that you could imagine when he was youner (about 6in long) I checked the water params last night and everything was fine and he had been eating very well. He now has a spot in our backyard that I buried him in last night.

It's not that easy. It's really hard to replace a fish that you raised from a little baby. I bought a new Silver the day after our large guy died and it's not the same.

No it won't ever be the same after losing a pet of any kind and getting another..but it fills a little spot where the one you cared for was lost.
