Hello everyone... I am new to this site and am looking forward to sharing my info as is receiving yours on fish keeping so here's the first question... My black aro is about 13" long and it has almost like peeling skin after a sunburn looking stuff on its head. My water parimeters are fine so im not sure what it could be! Any thoughts? Thanks...Nunzio

How long have you had the fish in question? What exactly are the water parameters? Has it been put through any amount of stress lately?

This happended to my aro when he was in my ponf and one of the pipes burst. Most of the water was gone and my fish were in about 10" of water. I went crazy mad and saw my silver aro swimming around in a small area that was blocked off by stones and a water fall. He was jumpin' all over the place and so I netted him and put hin in a larger area of the pond. This was at night when I came outside to check on my fish. I shown a flashlight on him and on him and a couple plates on his body were missing as if he were peeling. I figured that he must have rubbed himself against some stone or had faught with the arapima or occelaris. I had half way filled the 2600 gallon pond in a couple hours withe two hoses. The next morning I go to check on my pond and see all the koi, bass, arrowana swimming around and then I see my arapima floating upside down in the water with white eyes. sad.gif
