Elmer's Webpage

Pretty much anybody from the western half of PA/eastern half of Ohio will at least have heard of Elmers if they haven't visited the store. It is located about 15 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. They have about 250 tank showroom with more dedicated to fresh than salt. They get a wide variety of cichlids (African, SA/CA) a whole lot of pond goldfish/koi in the spring time, a pretty decent selection of P's(Black, Gold, RBs, Elongatus, Caribe, Manuelli) and my favorite lots of oddballs (Wolffish, Gars, Puffers, Exo's, Bichirs, etc) Prices are good for this area but this area seems to be priced a bit higher that other areas of the country mad.gif I have purchased 99.999999% of all of the fish I have ever owned came from Elmer's. The staff is nice and all try to be helpful but like anywhere some workers are more knowledgeable than others. The store has been family owned for more than 30 years. My mom worked there for like 12 years but that was when I was young and before I caught the bug so I never got to take advantage of her discount. They do to this day give me a 15% Ex-Employee discount along with the occasional special markdown. I will write one or two more recomendations for stores in this area but this place is hands down the best.

I got a nice big spotted gar from Elmers a few weeks ago and he's just ravenous, LOL. Very neat shop.
