Is it possible to put a 12" black arowana and 12" jardini in a planted 225 gallon tank? will the jardini kill the black arowana? i need space in my house so putting both of them into one tank will help a lot. what do the pros that have done this before say, any advice??

I wouldn't try it Jardinis are so agressive i could see him killing the black pretty quick. or at least damaging it pretty bad.
I tried a silver 10" with a 6" jardini about ten years ago and it killed the silver...hope this helps.

That would depend on the jardini's temperament and how many other fish you gonna add in the tank to spread out the aggression. If it's the only jardini and black in the tank then the jardini will kill the black as it's the fish his going to see.
I have an 20" jar with a 21" green and 15" silver with 2x 12" blacks and no is bothering each other, they just swim pass each other.

I would advise against it. Jardinis in general can be quite aggressive. All the Jars I've had in the past including the one I have now destroyed everything else in the tank.

the answer to your question is YES, it is possible, despite what other people assume

bigger then the sizes you suggested, and not a missing scale between them.

It would be possible but there is a good chance they will fight, with the jardini being the stronger one as they are very aggressive.
It all really depends, some people have done it and some have had bad experiences which you might not wanna risk.

The general answer is an enthusiastic no. However, things need to be assessed on a case by case basis, and the addition of a few large dithers may reduce aggression. It seems as if Bitteraspects has made it work, so I can't tell you it's not worth a try. However, on the average, jars are far too aggressive to be housed with other aros and most other surface dwelling or defenseless fish.

I totally agree with what's said here. It can be done, but be prepared. I had a 6", $20 jar kill a 12", $200 wide bar... AH!! I would suggest it wouldn't work, but it always COULD...
