Tank size - 7ft x 2 ft x 2ft with 5 Indo Tiger Fish (4inch to 10inch)

Have done my research and it seems tank sizes vary quite a bit for Arowana's.

Would an Arowana be ok in here?

Im thinking probably not, but doe's everyone agree?

Just looking for something to contrast my Tigers.

Thank you for your thoughts.

An arowana would fine in there for a time, eventually needing a wider tank. Depending on how much you're feeding and what size you get it at I would say you would have about 1-2 years before it exceeded the 2' mark.

An asian arowana or austrlaian arowana would do fine in that tank but not the south american species.

I agree a Asian Aro seeing you live in the Uk would work out fine in there. Austrilians also would work, i just like the temperment of the asians more, Silvers or blacks would eventually get to large. I am preently keeping a 20" green asian in my tank 72"x 28"x24" and it seems very happy when its not trying to bite me...lol

Thank you CORVETTE for your reply. Really like the look of your tank. Love the IT's in there.

Have been considering an Asian after reading the replies, a green would probably be the option due to budget.

Do you have any problems with the Aro and the Dats?, everything I have read where Aro's and Dats are mixed indicate no problems but would like to know if you have had any problems.

I have found a UK site where I can get a green Aro, doubt any of my local LFS will ever stock these.

After seeing your tank, and with the other replies, getting closer to making a decision if to add the Aro.
