Looking for a good source to buy healthy arowanas. I expect my budget will be $80-100 for a single. I don't want the run of the mill Silver, looking for color and large scales. I am in Grand Rapids, Mi but would not shy away from a quality shipped source. TIA

Big silvers have large scales?? RKC at infinite aquatics has been getting some nicely priced black aros recently. A little more than your budget. You shouldn't have too hard of a time finding small jardinis on that budget. Even at a lfs.

I agree with Danh, most lfs should have some small jardinis fairly cheap. my lfs sells them around $50. but, most lfs usually only carry silvers and jardinis, so if you dont like the look of a jardini, you will probably have to look at shipping options. There are many websites and quality dealers that you can special order aros from many of them. I took a look at some places to give you a few options that could be in your price range. http://www.findarowana.com/search.cfm?cret...amp;creteria2=0
Im not familiar with this site but it appears that they have some decent sales and a good variety.
liveaquaria.com sells jardinis if you cannot find them in your lfs.
and aquabid.com always has various arowanas but at random prices.
check em out and i hope you find a nice aro at a fair price!

I recommend Snookn21; i got 4 from him for $25 ea at exactly 8in. Shipping is as is. Infinit aquatic shipping is pretty high (my opinion) $125 for black and $120 for shipping? too much for me
