found a "blue" Arowana @ LFS
is this a real species or just a color variation of a silver arowana??
it is gorgeous very brilliant color.
also pretty expensive $300.00us
do they get as large as a silver?
would a 55gal with two bichirs ornate / delhezi be sufficient for a 6 months or so
til i get my other 230gal set up?
any info on food temp decor

It's the same as a black aro. Very similar to silvers. I've never seen one as bulky as a huge silver, but they get just as long. It would depend on the size of it now for it's tank size. Needs open top water like a silver. Eats like a silver. I feed mine shrimp, pellets and catfish filet with the occasional feeder. He's a really good eater. I'd say $300 is a retail price for 8-10" or so? You can get that size or bigger from an online seller for less most of the time.

Blue aro are actually black aro (Osteoglossum ferreirai). Juveniles are black in color. Then they turn to silvery blue. Black aro grow slower than silver aro (Osteoglossum bicirrhosum). They also don't get drop eyes like silver aros do.
