I think I found the list of fish allowed to be imported/sold in maine,hope it helps

Excellent information. Looks like Maine gives a list of ACCEPTABLE fish.....not prohibited ones! I'm guessing that means that anything that isn't on the list would have to have a permit or be outright prohibited.

Actually Joe that is just a list of fishes that can be sold in Pet stores Maine has it's own Restricted list as well. (I'll post that up a bit later)
Note that the list of accepted fish can be further added to by submission of documentation to Wildlife and Fish.
